Thanks, Suz Big Wagon
Thanks for your help. Further research since my last post has led me to believe that for me, a fitted wet room is not needed. In fact, I have found some web sites that sell a big bag, complete with outlet fitting, that you can put on top of the van to warm up in the sun and, as you say, park up close to the nearest hedge if needed. I think I shall go for a porta pottie on board just in case it is needed, but otherwise I think if I am gonna be hooked up at a campsite then I shall use the provided facilities. Also, there is always the McS–t and lies approach at a roadside diner, along with a cheap milkshake…..
Still researching the best options for the Transit / Sprinter type van – there seems to be a lot of divided opinion over seperate driver cabs and a fitted bulkhead, as opposed to a completely “walk through” and open van. I don’t suppose I could pick your brains for an opinion? Thanks again,
Andy P.
Andy PParticipantThanks, Darren
Thanks for the advice. I have been looking through lots of adverts for vans and saving pictures of the various layouts to be found, just as mgroadster advices. It seems anything goes, but more goes as the space grows, pardon the pun. I still think the sprinter or the transit are for me, but I have seem a couple of adverts for extra long wheel base transits, and even though they look big in the photos I reckon I can soon use the space up. So thanks again and I shall look into talking to Campton for a quote once I find “the van”.Andy P.

Thanks for your help. I think I am decided now on the Transit LWB high top, having seen a few adverts for vans within the local area down here in the South East. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems the 2.5 Litre manual 5 speed diesel is the way forward for easy conversion and maintenance, and I agree that being able to stand up in the van is a requirement. So, with all that in mind, can I possibly bug you guys one more time and ask if there are any pratfalls / tripfalls to be avoided in the early stages of a conversion? Thanks again, mgroadster.
