Cheers, guys
Thanks for your words of advice. I have been leaning toward the no bulk head version of van, and can easily see how the taking of a dip in the sea could work well for me. I also like the idea of the cab area and living area to be one. I will, however, be travelling with my dog and have read that a simple fold out type area to double the passenger seat area, complete with doggy seat belt, is good for the larger dog such as my Lab. I don’t suppose any of you guys have experience with doggy transport?Andy PParticipantCheers, guys

Hiya Colidog,I too am new to this whole campervan conversion business and am in the process of asking for advice and researching the subject. I have found a book on Amazon that is really useful, written by an average joe converting a van. I have found it very useful and if you want a good read, look for “Camper Van Conversion” by Colin Grace. I think I splashed out 14 pounds for a paperback copy of it, but I think it was well spent for a newbie like me. You can also get it as an electronic download or on a CD.
Anyway, hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for your help. Further research since my last post has led me to believe that for me, a fitted wet room is not needed. In fact, I have found some web sites that sell a big bag, complete with outlet fitting, that you can put on top of the van to warm up in the sun and, as you say, park up close to the nearest hedge if needed. I think I shall go for a porta pottie on board just in case it is needed, but otherwise I think if I am gonna be hooked up at a campsite then I shall use the provided facilities. Also, there is always the McS–t and lies approach at a roadside diner, along with a cheap milkshake…..
Still researching the best options for the Transit / Sprinter type van – there seems to be a lot of divided opinion over seperate driver cabs and a fitted bulkhead, as opposed to a completely “walk through” and open van. I don’t suppose I could pick your brains for an opinion? Thanks again,
