    And Another Thing!
Must mention this. I found out the hard way on my last trip out – take some doggy poo bags, placed within a plastic bag complete with a toilet paper roll. Simple and great to have, yet so sorely ( and I mean that ) missed when without.

    Hiya, Lazarus
    Hello Lazarus!

That gets our rosta of interested parties up to four. Not quite enough to form a football team yet, but a great start! I am glad to hear the van has made it through the rough patch you mentioned last time round – was it an expensive repair or a just a lot of work? I do hope it was not both. By the way, what do you call your van?

I understand from the weather forecasts that the out-of-kilter Jet Stream may have gone and settled down and we may be blessed with a fine, warm and steady late summer, and that bodes well for a get together in the late summer or early fall.

Any other interested parties out there? Make yourself known!

    Coffee And Bread
I have now tried the “breakfast bar-b-q” on my last trip out and found I can get away with making coffee with water boiled on the barby, served with those little bread rolls from the continent that Lidl sale, wrapped in foil and warmed up on the barby. I had mine with a salami selection from Asda out of the coolbox. Coffee, warm bread and sliced meat too. Heaven, and a great start to a day of walking with my dog. Another one to add to my list of favourites.

    So Cool!
Back from another trip into the wide open spaces of Kent, such as they are, and with the wonderful discovery of the “Spork”! This little item is a spoon with the side sawn off and sharpened into a knife edge and with the end sawn into fork tines.

Is it a man? Is it a bird? No – it is a Spork, and cheaply found on the good old internet! Get one and save space and weight!

As you can tell, first the sachets and now the spork have gotten me all excited. I think they are great ideas to add to those already mentioned. What do all you walking and hiking guys think?

    Gotcha, MGR
Yeah, I get that big time MGR.

It really is not just the meal, is it? It is also the surroundings, the place, the time and the atmosphere. Also, how you feel at the time. All these things add up to turn an average or good meal into a great one. Let me place a bet and say my omelette and your homemade stew have never tasted better since? Oh, and yes, I have made the same dish at home and it is not so good. I reckon that means next trip out, a new dish and new dreams…….
