ParticipantHi, I am thinking about putting a revolving extract vent in the roof of our van to cool it when driving.
Has anyone any experience of this – does it work? Are they noisy?
Otherwise I thought about opening windows in the two rear doors – anyone done this?
Cheers

KeymasterMy van came with a Flettner
My van came with a Flettner vent installed in the roof. I haven’t tried the airflow when driving, but when stationary the airflow is minimal. I does help a little when it’s very hot and the door is open. It does help a little bit when the van is shut in the sun.I would rather install an opening roof light than a rotating vent though.
Mine is probably as old as the van, 10 years, and it’s near silent.
I would go for an opening roof vent. Great when stationary, and some can be used when driving. I have a Fiamma vent and it’s great.June 6, 2012 at 3:59 pm #123672Darren

Hi, thanks for the post. Why haven’t you tried the flattener when driving?
Do you know which fiamma vent can be used when driving?
