VW Campervan vs Mercedes Campervan

We are a week away from buying our first campervan and would appreciate some advice – I am an Ultra Runner and would be using it for weekends away for sleeping etc and my wife will be supporting me – We also enjoy camping and would like to get away every weekend in the camper. We just don’t know which one is the best purchase. (We have £15K to spend)

If I’m correct, the VW will hold its residual value better and the Mercedes appears to have better mechanics. Help!

VW’s are always over priced
VW’s are always over priced for what you get but they do hold their value better. Mercedes parts are cheaper but alot of mercedes parts will fit the vw’s depending on the age and model you are looking at.
Which models are you looking at? Clearly simillar sized?
