Great idea, as having a camper with small kids is great.
Vitos and VWs are all great vans. Also look at Toyota HiAce, which would probably be my choice in your price range.
I’ve owned a few Mercedes vans, which are so great reliability wise, but they can rust a bit if you don’t stay on top of it.
£3,000 for van and the conversion is a great budget.
If you are taking children in the back carefully think about the rear seat. Probably worth spending a bit of money on a good one with seat belts and that turns into a bed.Hi Chris
