RV ROOF VENT INSTALLATION (without insulation)

Hello Guys,

Im trying to see how I can fit a roof vent in my FORD ECONOLINE E-150 (2002). I saw some forums and youtube videos how people install it but all of them they have insulation inside. Mine I didnt put any and I dont know if there is a problem as it seems I need some thickness in my ceiling.

Does any installed one of them without insulation, means, goes directly to the metal ceiling?????
