Hi All,
I am in the early stages of doing a camper conversion in an old LDV convoy. I have got as far as taking the seats out and giving her a good spring clean. The next thing I want to do is the insulation but first I really need to sort the windows as a lot of the rubber seals have perished. Does anyone have any handy hints on how to revamp windows? Many thanks!

Hi there,
I’m also at the same stage with my van and need to re-seal all my windows.
I have an uncle who works for a caravan company and he told me that if you’re rubber seals have perished slightly, give them a wash with hot soapy water to remove any algae type stuff and soften the rubber, then rub them with glycerine. Glycerine is a natural preservative.
It’s also a humectant (attracts and traps moisture) so I wondered if maybe an after coat of something like Lanolin, Carnauba or Japan wax would seal them further and prevent any more growth and perishing.

Unfortunately some of the window seals are coming away entirely and so I don’t know if it would be best to completely replace these.
Hope you’re making progress!
