This is Gladys a current project of mine Bought for £675 and in a very sorry state – a chap had had a go t the restoration but they all needed to be re done –
As she was in such a state it was decided at an early stage to enhance the the style of the type 2 van –
I passed on my thoughts to a friend Graham durbrige who created a doodle of my thoughts –
She has been radically lowered all round – she features a hand fabricated sun visor bead rolled and swaged – frenched rear lights – swaged chassis repair panels all round – custom louvred engine cover – custom tin tubs in the engine bay – removed swage lip on the front replaced by a new hand fabricated lower front panel – custom overriders – frenched number plates – frenched dash – moon roof – xj8 rear seat as a bench seat in the front – polished walnut panels inside – oak floor – Walnut headliner still wip – the engine is a rebuilt 1641 with a 32 36 weber carb
All the work has been done by me welding fabrication interior and paintShe is still work in progress and hope to have her done for the summer if we get one
