ParticipantHey there all, first time posting here but hoping there will be some good insight.
I purchased a 78 ford van that had been converted into an RV at some point in its life… No clue when. It has a lot of obvious DIY aspects to the build & I recently got frustrated and ripped out everything to start from scratch. There are so many wires everywhere and no power (except to the starter & car components… No power in ciggy lighter though). I have a marine battery separate from the starting battery & am wondering how I should go about using power from this battery for lights & charging my cell phone. I’d like to one day run larger electronics eventually… Maybe a vitamix blender?!
How do I even start?! Help!

GuestHi
HiThe best option would be to connect a inverter to the leisure battery. The inverter will convert the 12v from the battery to 240v, which you can then use to power various devices, including your phone charger.
Inverters normally connect to the battery with crocodile clips.November 11, 2014 at 7:55 pm #115859Darren

i would recommed an external battery for any other purpsoes. As the battery of the car wont run long for other utilies like TV or cargger and all. So better have an inverter and convert the power. Reply if wan tot know about in detail.November 15, 2014 at 11:03 am #115863carolynn
