ParticipantHi there,
I have just joined this site, which looks fantastic
I have a Mercedes Viano 2004 extra long wheelbase that I intend to convert later on.
At the moment I would like to add a second battery with an electric hook up point that i could use when I am camping.
Does anyone have any Recommendations on cost and people that could do it or is it an easy job to DIY
I live in Ascot ,Berkshire
Thanks

Hi Vince, I’ve just done the same and bought a LWB Viano (Berkshire too) which I want to convert to a day van with a pop-top bed..My plans for a second battery are to get another under-seat battery tray from a Vito/Viano and install that under the driver seat.. Then use a marine/camper split charger.

I’ve just done the same in my Vito. I just used the space under the drivers seat. Two tie down loops and a tie down strap hold the battery in place. Split charge relay thing was a doddle to wire, just followed the instructions in the packet. Mounted that under the seat too. Then used an anderson socket and plug to take power where ever needed.September 12, 2014 at 10:36 pm #116153makeitfit
