ParticipantWe’re looking to get a panel van and do a home conversion. Keen on the idea of being able to sleep in the van, but don’t particularly like the standard rock’n’roll beds as they seem uncomfortable to sit on, and don’t use space particularly well. Does anybody know of any seating system where the front and back seats can be combined, to create a sleeping platform?

GuestHi
Hi This is a difficult problem to solve, and one I considered on my own conversion.
The only example I know of it the Adria Twin. Here is an example
The turned front seat is used as part of a forward bed.
Quite difficult to make a double bed out of this.In smaller vans I think rock and roll beds are great.
If you buy the frame you could have it covered with the padding and fabric of your choice.
For bigger vans, a custom bed is better.November 12, 2015 at 12:03 pm #114793Darren
