As you said, the circuit cannot detect the bulb.
Check all of the wiring, could be a bad connection or broken wire.
I had a situation where the bulb holder metal had worn, and some bulbs, even new, wouldn’t work.
I re-shaped the bulb holder and it worked again.
Check the bulb holder metal contacts with sand paper.
