Hey,
We are taking our camper through France and Switzerland this winter, and are going to need winter tires. However we don't want to have them fitted straight away as we will be in Spain for some of the time and the road conditions will not require the winter tires. From what we have read, winter tires will wear out quickly when used in non-winter conditions.
So we were considering having them fitted in Spain, prior to entering France (when getting closer to the winter conditions). Has anyone got any advice on getting this service in Spain? And is it an expensive service to have performed?
Thanks,
Grace

I run winter tyres here in

I run winter tyres here in the uk all year round on my van. Yes they do wear out a little bit quicker. I need to change my tyres every 3 years instead of every 4.
Don't worry about getting them fitted in spain, get it done here before you go and save yourself the agro. Winter tyres on cars are more of an issue as cars tend to drive quicker than vans i don't often drive more than 65.
Also the recomended use in theuk for winter tyres is from november through to march.
Obviously a hot country would be very different but spain in the winter, you'll be fine.

Just remember the braking distance is much longer with winter tyres, esp. with all the weight you carry. Be carefull!
Good trip!
