Water tank drain tap
Hi, please can anyone help? We have just bought an old Renault Trafic Autosleeper Rimini 1992 reg and everything works perfectly, except that the drain tap has broken off the water tank under the van! Has anyone had any experience of this? We don't seem to be able to remove the broken part of the tap and have no idea if this could be replaced or if we have to get a whole new tank - hope not! Any help, suggestions would be much apreciated.
Hello, thanks for replying. We finally managed to get the tap off - had to remove the tank to get inside to uncrew the broken part. Have managed to get a new tap, it looks abit like a water butt tap and fixes through the hole in the tank with a washer and plastic locking nut. Unfortunately, the new tap does not have such a generous screw part as the old one did which means the locking nut inside the tank cannot bite enough to make a water tight connection. Our next try will be with a thinner washer and if that doesn't work we shall be searching for a new tap again!
My mun has just bought an old 1986 renault trafic van that has been converted to a campervan. We are having trouble draining the old water from the sink. I have tried turning a red knob in the rear of the camper, but no water drains out of it. Also the water pump has stopped working so no water comes out of the taps now.
Could you help with my mum with the solutuions to these problems?
Thanks

Hi. You should be able to replace the broken tap. How is the tap secured to the tank. Does it screw in? Can you take a photo of the tap and post it here.
