Hi there, I'm Steve. I've been using a Reimo converted SWB Transit as my everyday vehicle for nearly 5 years now and have decided to upgrade to a MWB Merc' Sprinter 308D that's been offered to me for a price I can't afford to refuse.
We've spent a lot of time in the Tranny over the years, nearly 90k miles since I bought her!, 10k of that's been touring around Ireland for a few weeks each year, the rest just general driving to and frow in the UK.
I've done a couple of conversions in the past, (the distant past!), but this time I'm planning to make it easier on myself by transfering the Reimo intierior, with modifications, straight into the Sprinter as despite her age it all works and we're used to the layout now.
The things I'm looking forward to most with the Sprinter are the prospect of having loads more space for storage, the fixed roof and having room to fit a toilet and washroom, something a SWB Tranny with a pop-top doesn't allow!
My only real worries are that I've got to remove the steel bulkhead from behind the cab seats before I can start on her and that old chestnut of insurance issues/costs, any ideas on those would be welcome. :-)
I'll keep you posted as to how we get on.
All the best,
Steve.
