Help. I am considering buying a van (Ambulance shape!), with the intention of converting it into a motorhome/camper van. Have never bought a van before or run one.
My first question running costs.
Can anyone give me a rule of thumb for how much I am likely to pay for the tax disc?
Is it true that the more windows the higher the tax disc.
The van at my work I'm told is 2.9ltr the tax is £170 (it Ambulance shape), there are no extra windows!

Hi Nigel. UK Tax for Class 4

Hi Nigel.

UK Tax for Class 4 vehicles (vans, but not really big vans) is about £200 for 1 year.
If large vans (Class 7) are registered as camper vans I think they fall into the Class 4 (cheaper) tax bracket.
I don't think the number of windows makes any difference.
