Relay Van Conversion

By bimble777 - Posted on 30 August 2010

Our old Talbot Express Pilote R380 did us proud for 12 years but the bodywork was getting beyond us - spent over three thousand on just dealing with the rust over the 12 years but it needed doing again.

Now converting the Relay to sleep two. We don't want all the usual fittings, full size fridge, kitchen size cooker etc; we didn't use the cooker once in all those years.

We alway stay on sites and always, almost, on hook-up, so going to configure for electric cooking with a gas backup stashed away somewhere. We've made some interesting cooking discoveries over the years - for example you can cook damn near ANYTHING in an electric frying pan (skillet) and you can most definitely fry, carefully, an egg in a sandwich maker.

Switching to the Relay has been an amazing experience - it has power steering! I used to come back from two months of driving in France and Spain with biceps like a navvy.
