I'm looking for suggestions please.

I'm ferrying into Rotterdam on 1st October, and I intend to travel towards Germany, possibly Dusseldorf, and then through Luxembourg to Paris.

I want to try avoid the main routes wherever possible and would like to know if there is anywhere along the route that is worth seeing. It can be spectacular scenery, nice village/city or just anything that makes you go 'wow'.

From Paris I am going to head up to Normandy and along the coast back to Calais, so any further suggestions along that route would also be welcomed.

Thank you - Gary

I've not done much of that

I've not done much of that route so can't make recommendations. But, I've found, if you have the time, that not travelling on the Peage or Autobahn roads often give you better views, and it makes it easier to stop and take in whatever is there.
