Chameleon Motorhomes have launched an interesting twist on the panel van motorhome conversion.  Addressing the problem of sleeping 4 people in a LWB vehicle, they have incorporated an interesting slide-out rear section that presents a double bed.

Chameleon Motorhomes have launched an interesting twist on the panel van motorhome conversion.  Addressing the problem of sleeping 4 people in a LWB vehicle, they have incorporated an interesting slide-out rear section that presents a double bed.

The conversion is built around the popular Mercedes Sprinter and Fiat Ducato LWB base vans.  A smaller version is also available based on the Sprinter MWB van.  The later sleeping 2 rather than 4 people.

The slide-out bed is housed in the back of the vehicle.  The standard rear doors of the van are opened and the bed slides out.  When on the road the bed slides in and doors are shut and locked.

The second double bed is made from the forward dinning area seats.  These seats can also be removed to allow cargo to be carried in the forward area.

The generous vehicle equipment includes:

  • Quality acrylics worktops
  • 110-litre compressor fridge
  • Thermally-broken Alucore subfloor
  • TVs in the front and rear
  • Electrically powered step for each access
  • A methanol-fuelled EFOY fuel cell is an optional extra
