New to Camper Van life - Hello
Hello everyone.
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I bought my T2 a few years ago and have had fun camping and going to festivals in her. I've decided to spruce up her interior ready for the summer but am on a tight budget so any advice on good places to buy bits would be greatly appreciated.
Next weekend is the strip out of the existing interior so i get to see exactly ehat she's like underneath. hoping i get no nasty surprises.
I went to CamperMart a few weekends ago so got a few numbers and approx prices.
I cant afford to spend loads on a mega posh interior, just need basic cupboard space really. Dont intend to have a fridge/sink either, was planning to get an electric coolbox then i can use it in the car as well.
In my head my plan is for a 3/4 bed with cupboard space along the side.
Unfortunately my pop top needs replacing so that wont be cheap.
How many campers/stealth vans have you done?
"In my head my plan is for a 3/4 bed with cupboard space along the side."
That's the classic VW layout, and it works really well.
Shame about the pop-top, they really are expensive but worth it.
I have done 2 campers from scratch, and helped with a few others.
i"m a"skip diver! myself , have been for years , especially the ones around joiners premises , speak ok to owner and he will most likely let you take whatever, also things like people throwing out their furniture ,new sofa? fab , maybe i can have the foam from the one being tossed?!!look around the streets on heavy domestic household goods collection day (EARLY)and there"s some stuff you can use maybe for a little while till u get some more cash together.i have fitted my bus in the past totally from this method, then i do run a Rat bus so more function than pretty for sure!!if you saw it, you would certainly agree !!

Camper Van Life is brought to you by Darren Lambert, a big fan of camper vans.
Nice to hear from you.
What are you planning for the interior?
What sort of styles do you like?
Shop around for wood. Prices vary a lot.
www.ebay.co.uk is great for buying used bits, and new bits at cheaper prices.
Freecycle can be good for wood and fittings
