Off the A1M Junction 58 Turn towards Bishop Auckland, about 4 miles on the right-hand side.

Free camping in Castleside

The car park at Smelter Arms pub on the A 68. It is advertised as an overnight caravan stop (sign on A68 on approach to Castleside from Rowley). Could be used as an overnight by motor homes. Ask at the pub. Ideal stop for onwards to Scotland.
