Hi all, Hope all is well!
Have started on my van again (LDV Convoy Luton with fibreglass back) someone previous had started a conversion, very poorly. I have ripped out all of what was done and am starting again, unfortunatly I have a very low budget, i have plenty of 25mm polystyrene which came with the van. a few questions and ideas if i can get some opinions

My plan was to to have 25mm polystyrene, about 25mm air gap and then double foil and bubble layer insulation, I was considering removeing the air gap and using the large bubble type insulation used for green houses inbetween the poystyrene and foil, Do i need an air gap? and do i need to ventilate the airgap seperatley? Is it worth suing the green house insulation? any other ideas, ? i have about 30m2 to cover and have a budget for insulation of about £75!

Thanks

Frankie

Hi Frankie Interesting

Hi Frankie

Interesting conversions you have there.
25mm polystyrene is a pretty good insulator. The foil bubble stuff is also a good insulator. I personally would use these two as you have suggested, leaving the air gap. I wouldn't fill the air gap.

You don't need to ventilate the air gap. You want that air to stay warm.

I wouldn't use the greenhouse stuff, unless you plan on living in really cold areas. Then it might be worth it.
