I have been looking at Ebay for some time and made one or two unsuccessful bids on used caravan cushions. Some of the Buy it now guys are silly prices.
However, I had a thought....What about a memory foam mattress and cut it.
We sleep on memory foam at home and it is far superior to pocket sprung mattresses.
I'm going to buy a memory foam mattress and cut it to my sizes and whilst having the best nights sleep, we'll also save some money.(obviously we'll cover it, but would have to anyway on used caravan cushions as the colours/patterns always look like they've come out of an old peoples home).
If you are disappointed at the high price of used seating foam/caravan cushions...try buying a memory foam mattress.

This is a good idea. Other people have said that Ikea mattresses are good for this.

Memory foam

I did just that. I actually asked at a branch of "Dreams" if they had any old memory foam knocking about and they let me have a piece for nothing (it had been used to cushion a delivery). It was more than enough for my L-shaped couch.

I cut it using a bread knife for a very neat finish and a friend covered the finished cushions for me. It's made the lounge incredibly comfortable.

There are some re-coverers on Ebay, but if you think you are able, have a go yourself.
My wife is going to do our soft furnishings in the camper and although she has never covered seats etc. before, she's going to have a go. We even bought an old 2nd hand electric sewing machine from a boot sale for a tenner (and it works perfectly).(The buy it now artists on Ebay have lost the plot on their prices for electric machines). You have to be careful. You can end up paying alot for a recover.

I do cushion recovers etc. If I actually had a vehicle at the moment I would say I was a mobile seamstress, but right now am immobile, finishing off a wedding dress in a flat by the sea in wales. If anyone needs stuff doing, you can always send me fabric and dimensions and I can do.

Well, in luxury now! The rules were simple. If I bought a new Memory foam mattress for our bed, I could have our older memory foam mattress for the camper.
Yes it arrived today, so now this weekend, it's out with the old cr*p in the camper and a nice memory foam seating/bedding arrangement.
Time to sharpen the bread knife.
Also got some really nice thick lined red velvet curtains.
