E/roof 2 berth.

Getting an 9 seater, lwb, twin sliding door model with full privacy glass etc. seemed a good idea at the time as we needed twin beds & e/roof to get into car parks.
However the Bilbo / leisuredrive converters do`nt like all the stripping out that needs to be done. ( Only saw the lwb or underfloor Welbasto diesel heater c/w rear heater matrix etc. as a problem that did`nt fit their standard units & some wanted to charge £800 - 1k to remove it all; s*d that ! )
So i`ve started on the basics - new discs/pads all round + 1x caliper.
35mm KW lowering springs & going down one width size for the tyres (to still fit new 65% profile yet retain 107T rating; After feeling the weight of two rows of VW seats i don`t anticipate big problems with weighbridge loadings as long as i get the balance right).
Full VW load rated 16 " alloys, (trying to keep overall height to allow for approx. 3" of elevating roof ).
Swap front dual for single & swivel plates for both.
Pain dropping the diesel tank to remove 12x 16mm seat fixings + the easy ones.
, (once you strip off all VW`s covers from the underside ! )
Had a lot of trouble sourcing the two single rear bed/seats - RIB`s are £1,400 ea. !
Finally got two FASP M1 tested rear seat/beds, (just working out Unwins floor fixing rails extending back to secure lightweight ply units, before fitting floor).
I have some parts for vw`s lightweight e/roof, but will soon to have to bite the bullet & pay thhe VW stealers for the Aluwell/f/glass roof, hinges etc. - God why did i start this project ! )
Sorry for boring you but the wife won`t listen anymore !
Would love to hear from other T5 builders & general solutions.
regards,
Peter.
