I've been living in my van in London for a few months now and I'm considering moving to Berlin, anyone free-camped there before? What are the German police like? Laws on sleeping on the street? Anyone know anything?

Camping in Berlin

We parked in a free carpark and on suburban streets in Berlin and caught the train into the centre. We did the same thing in Prague and Athens. Park and ride carparks can be good too. Our van was an old Mercedes Sprinter, not converted, very basic, so it wasn't obvious that we were sleeping in it. I think you could park in the suburbs in Berlin and live in your van quite easily as long as you move your location frequently. We never had any trouble with the Police.
